Andrew W. Howard, OD
Dr. Andy received his undergraduate degree with honors from Virginia Tech. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, also with honors. Dr. Andy is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Fraternity, as well as Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He is past president of the East Tennessee Optometric Society, and holds membership in the American and Tennessee Optometric Associations.
Dr. Andy enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children, Rachel and Joseph. He is active in his church, where he serves as a deacon and teaches Sunday School. Dr. Andy enjoys running, motorsports, and creative pursuits such as artistry and writing.
Elizabeth T. Howard, OD
Dr. Liz attended Murray State University for undergraduate studies, and also attended Southern College of Optometry for her doctorate degree. She completed an ocular disease fellowship at the Vitreoretinal Foundation in Memphis, giving her advanced training in the treatment of eye diseases. Her memberships include Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and the American and Tennessee Optometric Associations.
Dr. Liz also enjoys spending time with family, especially outdoors. She is active in her church where she serves as a volunteer on various committees and outreach missions.
Michelle Garrett, OD
Dr. Garrett is a 2004 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville and received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Garrett completed training at both a VA hospital in Perry Point, Maryland, and Marion Eye Center in Indiana. Dr.Garrett has been certified to perform orthokeratology and other advanced contact lens procedures. She is a member of both the American and Tennessee Optometric Associations.
Dr. Garrett enjoys spending time with her husband Ryan, serving in her local church, riding her motorcycle, and various outdoor activities such as hiking and four-wheeling.
Blane Tarr, OD
Dr Tarr received his undergraduate degree with honors from Carson-Newman College. He then graduated, earning his Doctor of Optometry with honors, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Upon graduation from optometry school, he immediately entered the United States Army as a Captain and served four years as an Active Duty optometrist at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He holds membership in the Armed Forces Optometric Society.
Dr. Tarr is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities and studying economics, political theory, and theology.
Thomas A. Browning, MD
Dr. Browning completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He also continued his ophthalmology residency there as well. Dr. Browning completed a retinal fellowship at the Vitreoretinal Foundation, also in Memphis. This fellowship gave Dr. Browning advanced training in laser and medical treatment of diseases of the retina. Dr. Browning began practicing in East Tennessee 1989. He specializes in cataract and laser surgeries as well as treatment of retinal diseases.
